Friction wrist units

Commercially available wrist units permit the amputee to substitute for supination and pronation by manually rotating the terminal device with the remaining normal hand . Bilateral amputees usually preposition the terminal devices for use by striking one device against the other, thereby rotating it to the desired position of function.
