Full Stride stance control KAFO from becker

The FullStride knee joint is a mechanical device for orthotic braces. It uses a discreet cable system to automatically unlock when you're finishing a step and then lock again when your leg straightens, giving you stability while you walk.

Traditional KAFOs only lock in full extension, which provides lower limb stability but also causes patients to ambulate with gait deviations that may lead to other problems over time. Traditional KAFOs (knee-ankle-foot orthoses) keep the knee straight while walking, which means you can't bend your knee, making walking more tiring and requiring more energy. Stance control orthoses (SCOs), on the other hand, allow the patient's knee to flex during the swing phase of gait and block flexion in the stance phase for stability. An SCO's ability to provide knee flexion during the swing phase allows patients to walk with less effort and a more symmetrical gait pattern.
