KARE Prosthetics & Orthotics is the first clinical facility in INDIA to be certified in the HiFi Interface. The High-Fidelity Interface was developed in response to patients’ complaints that their socket is not fitting snugly or comfortably, resulting in poor positional, operational, and functional control. It was designed with the understanding that a person can have the most technologically advanced prosthetic foot, knee, hand, or arm, but if doesn’t connect to the body properly, it won’t deliver the proper results and the individual is less likely to wear it and enjoy the benefits it is intended to deliver.
The HiFi Interface gets closer to the bone by employing a patent-pending alternating compression and release design. Longitudinal struts apply centripetal compression to select areas of the limb, and uniquely designed windows between the struts proactively manage the gradual release of displaced soft tissue, enabling volume to safely escape. At the transfemoral level where soft tissue is more abundant, a HiFiTransfemoral Imager is used during the HiFi Interface’s casting/scanning phase. This device allows a HiFi trained prosthetist to apply appropriate compression to desired areas of the limb, and maintain consistency in amount and location of pressure during casting or scanning. Our wearers report that they can immediately understand the benefits once they step in the Imager.
